Being Tan vs. Being Pale in Asian Culture

There is a very big difference being tan and being pale in Asian culture.

As you can see from my previous blog posts, Asians prefer to be pale. In places like China, Korea, and Japan, they like to be pale so that they can look like a porcelain doll.

But in the more rural areas of Asia, like India, no one cares about appearance that much. They are more worried about how to make enough money to feed the family.

In those areas, they don’t care if you are tan or pale. They care about takin care of the family more.

In China and Korea especially, if you are tan, they think of you as a foreigner or poor.

These are the differences between being pale and being tan in Asia.
